QUINOA (keen wah): more than just a funky word to pronounce! Quinoa is a very versatile ingredient. Originating from South America, this grain looking seed is a great source of fibre, iron, and protein. In fact, this superfood is regarded as a complete protein, meaning that it contains all the essential amino acids for healthy bodily functions. Quinoa is also gluten-free and high in calcium making it suitable for vegans, people with coeliac disease and the lactose intolerant.
